According to a recent study, 61% of public school students are learning music in school and the vast majority of those students play in a wind band. Yet while there are thousands of professional orchestras in the U.S., there are only a small handful of professional wind ensembles. San Diego Winds aims to provide a powerful model of expressive music making for those students in order to help improve students lives and strengthen the culture of our communities.
